History: Missouri Valley Folklife Society (MVFS) was founded in 1980 to encourage appreciation of the rich cultural heritage and ethnic background of the midwestern USA. It continues to provide a forum in which professional folk artists can share their talents with the widest possible audience. Many cultures have been presented including that of the Irish, Scottish, Spanish, Cajun French, French Canadian, Peruvian, Mexican, Blues, Americana, Bluegrass, among others. Membership: MVFS members are the backbone of our organization. They receive discounts on concert tickets, a free subscription to the organization's newsletter The MUSE, and become part of a community that supports quality folk music. Concert Planning: Regular meetings are on the second Monday of each month at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church near the corner of Meyer and Wornall Rd., KCMO. Start time is 7:00 PM. Anyone wishing to present ideas for consideration is welcome to attend. Volunteers are always needed. Touch base with us beforehand at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
